A beginning is as only as good as it's middle and end. Although for stories, stories never really do end.
or as Steven Spielberg quotes it,
" People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don't have a middle or an end any more. They usually have a beginning that never stops beginning."
So what makes a good beginning?
Good beginnings starts off with a fresh feeling and a fresh start. It helps the audience decide whether to invest more of their time into the story. It draws the audience's attention and gives them something to look forward to as the setting of the story is told. It propels the audience to know more of the characters as to where they are, what their everyday routine looks like and when the whole story line takes place.
Then as the story progresses, the problem of the story arises. The characters are then faced to a conflict that would either make them or break them.
Then it hits climax, and then it hits the resolution of the problem.
But we're not here about what comes after the intro.
Just like any other new year's resolution, everybody starts the year off with a plan, and hopes to better themselves with an end goal by the end of the year. Some have a vague idea of what the big picture they plan to accomplish all throughout the year, while some plan it thoroughly down to the last detail and are prepared to face unforeseen circumstances.
Whatever plans that we have, the best thing to do about our plans is to get it started. As many people who never stop chasing their dreams would say, "perfection is the enemy of progress.".
Get things done. Get inspired, but never let the flame die. Motivation only sparks a couple of seconds. It's consistency that gets you to the hundred percent.
But as for every new beginnings, all good beginnings are as only as good as the middle and end. All good plans are as only as good as doing it and achieving it.
Work hard for it!
